SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE

After the Oscar winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse blew everyone’s webs away in 2018 with an intelligent, gripping, funny and emotionally charged animated adventure, it was just a matter of time before we got a sequel.

Across the Spider-Verse arrives as the first of two new sequels (Spider-man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is scheduled to swing into cinemas in 2025). Miles Morales (the voice of Shameik Moore) is enjoying his college/life balance as a student and a city protector when he’s transported across the Multiverse, meeting new Spider-People along the way. When a problem threatens to destroy the whole multiverse, Miles must stand up for what he believes in to save the day, when opposing opinions loom ever near. Thankfully he will have Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) and Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson) by his side as Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) clashes with him. A groundbreaking animation that sparkles with verve and invention, and certainly deserves Oscar and BAFTA gold.
