Jacques Audiard returns with this absorbing character study set in Paris, telling the tale of multiple characters who live in the city’s famed 13th District. Shot in black and white, with a sensational soundtrack and a distinct visual style that completely captivates, Les Olympiades, Paris 13e (its original title) is the first truly great movie of 2022. Having wowed the festival circuit last year, the film features sensational performances from Noémie Merlant (hot off her success from Portrait of a Lady on Fire), Lucie Zhang, Makita Samba and Jehnny Beth. The characters are real, the emotion is palpable, and the drama keeps you hooked throughout.
