No-Bake Protein Energy Balls (Customisable Recipe)

A versatile, healthy snack packed with natural sweetness and protein.

Base Ingredients:

– 150g dried fruit (choose: dates, apricots, or figs)

– 100g nuts (choose: almonds, cashews, or walnuts)

– 2 tbsp ground flaxseeds or chia seeds

– 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla or chocolate)

– 1 tbsp nut butter (almond, peanut, or cashew)

– 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup

– 1–2 tbsp water (if needed)

Flavour Options:

– Warming Spice: 1 tsp ground ginger and ½ tsp cinnamon (for a classic ginger & date flavour)

– Citrus Freshness: Zest of 1 lemon (pairs well with figs)

– Sweet & Creamy: 1 tsp vanilla extract and ½ tsp cinnamon (great with apricots)

Method:

  1. Soften the fruit: Soak in warm water for 5 minutes if needed, then drain.
  2. Blend the nuts: Pulse in a food processor until finely chopped.
  3. Add remaining ingredients: Blend in dried fruit, flaxseeds, protein powder, nut butter, honey, and chosen flavourings. If too dry, add water gradually.
  4. Shape & coat (optional): Roll into bite-sized balls. For extra texture, coat in desiccated coconut, sesame seeds, or cocoa powder.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

📌 Storage Tip: Keeps in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
