Death on the Nile

Kenneth Branagh did a great job as Agatha Christie’s beloved inspector Hercule Poirot in Murder on the Orient Express so a second jaunt as the cunning sleuth is a very welcome sight. Death on the Nile is arguably the best story of the bunch so an all-star cast has once again been assembled for this glittering ensemble. Gal Gadot, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Dawn French, Annette Bening, Jennifer Saunders, Letitia Wright, Ali Fazal, Adam Garcia and Russell Brand are all suspects as Poirot investigates the murder of a woman on the famed African river

After what seems like an eternity, we are now gearing up for Matt Reeves brand new hot take on the Batman legacy. To say that this is one of the most anticipated movies of 2022 is a true understatement, with Robert Pattinson donning the cape and cowl for a dark and mysterious new tale from Gotham City. With The Riddler (Paul Dano) terrorising the city, Bruce Wayne (Pattinson) teams up with Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz) to save the day. Expect this one to be more of a detective-noir, taking inspiration from the early comic books with a gritty, dark and violent undertone. Throw in an unrecognisable Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon and Andy Serkis as Alfred, and you have a sure-fire success that will no doubt be one of the best films of the year

SCREAM

The classics are out in full force this Halloween, with Wes Craven’s seminal crowd-pleaser enjoying a rare revisit in cinemas this spooky season. The slasher genre was in a lull that looked to have claimed the lives of boogeymen like Jason, Freddy and Michael Myers. Enter Ghostface, a new classic horror icon to reanimate the industry and usher in a profitable wave of young Hollywood horror – one that took the industry by storm and would subsequently deliver such teen classics as I Know What You Did Last Summer, Urban Legend and Final Destination. Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Drew Barrymore and Matthew Lillard all do a remarkable job in turning Dawson’s Creek scribe Kevin Williamson’s self-aware story vividly to life. It has genuine scares, a plot that keeps you guessing and a standout ensemble. With a new version of Scream hitting cinemas at the start of 2022, let’s relive this stone-cold classic on its 25th anniversary.

BLADE

People often mention Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man in 2002 or Hugh Jackman’s turn as Wolverine in 2001’s X-Men as the catalyst for the comic book movie movement we now have today. But as successful and entertaining as those films were, the plaudits and respect need to be squarely placed at the feet of Stephen Norrington’s 1998 masterpiece Blade. Starring Wesley Snipes as the Day-Walker Blade, a Vampire who hunts down vampires in a city slowly falling under the spell of a new breed of threat, this film set the tone with a stunning visual feast full of action and boundless energy. Park Circus are bringing the film back to cinemas this Halloween for a limited time. So don’t miss the chance to capture this gem in 4k on the big screen and relive one of the greatest genre films of all time.
