People get ready, there’s a change a comin’…

We might as well accept it, we are all destined for radical change whether we like it or not. Our lifestyles will have to develop into something new, and mankind will have to evolve to a higher state of consciousness, because we need to behave more consciously and to develop above all our “can do attitude” if we are to have a fighting chance of surviving as a species.

One thing I have learned is that in any sphere of life, if we refuse to accept what is inevitable we set ourselves up for pain and suffering. But if we decide to accept what is and go with the flow, we will have a much more enjoyable, painless and fulfilling life. And I don’t just mean changing to electric cars.

It’s of paramount importance for us to seek creative, practical solutions to climate change, as COP-26 has shown us, and only by dropping our resistance and adopting a positive frame of mind when seeking those solutions can we create a critical mass for the required radical changes.

Those changes might be painful in the short term, but I have a feeling that once we have achieved them, our lives will improve immeasurably.

The biggest danger at the moment is drowning in negativity and fear because repeatedly we get images via the TV, social media, radio and newspapers of raging forest fires, melting glaciers, drought, devastating floods and belching chimneys, enough to strike terror into the most stoical of hearts. And this comes on top of our problems with Covid.

While I’m not suggesting for a moment that the media coverage is not justified – in fact it’s long overdue – it’s vital that we keep a cool head so we can think straight and adopt a bold and courageous stance to ensure we take positive action on climate change. Fear tends to lead to mental and emotional paralysis and we can become like the rabbit in the headlights – frozen into inaction – and we can’t afford to let that happen.

Only by adopting a positive frame of mind when seeking solutions can we create a critical mass for radical change. The time for denial is past, we can no longer ignore the mounting evidence that nature throws in our faces every day.

The good news is, we can do that, once we decide to adopt that positive mindset.

It begins and ends with the need to reprogramme our minds, for that’s what leads to how we feel and act. Now more than ever we need to generate some positive programming, to outweigh all that negative input, so more conscious and mindful behaviour automatically becomes our default setting, as it were.

That means, Greta Thunberg, I am convinced you mean well and I support you to the hilt, but please, enough already with your blah blah message which, at the end of the day, is actually pretty negative, and instead let us hear something from you that inspires in us the thought “we can and will change for the better, starting now.”

It might take a while, but the planet will respond positively if we all do that, I’m sure of it.
