“HEALING” – SCULPTURES INSPIRED BY PSYCHOTHERAPY
Sculpture exhibition raising funds for three local mental health charities
Forty figurative and portrait sculptures, made by retired GP and psychotherapist Rick Morrison over many years, reflecting his lifelong interest in minds and bodies, and how we get through life, with or without psychotherapy.
The pieces capture moments in his own development as well as some of his experiences as a therapist. The layout of the exhibition suggests a path from despair to healing, a path which is never a straight line but always full of twists and turns.
Catherine West MP, MP for Hornsey and Wood Green and patron of Mind in Haringey, will be coming to the exhibition on Friday 9th June at 1.00pm for the official launch, and everyone is welcome to join her.
The exhibition will be a fundraiser for the following mental health charities, through donations and sales of sculptures
- Mind in Haringey (supporting mental health and well-being throughout the borough);
- Open Door (the counselling and therapy service for young people age 12-24);
- Samaritans (providing a 24-hour helpline to people in extreme distress).
100% of all proceeds will go to the charities.

The exhibition takes place at The Original Gallery, 1st floor, Hornsey Library, Crouch End, N8 9JA (just behind the newly developed Town Hall) from 7th June to 4th July 2023, open every afternoon during those four weeks: Mondays-Fridays 1-7pm, Saturdays 1-5pm, Sundays 12-4pm.
It’s wheelchair accessible, with a lift to the gallery.
