An independent Prep school where educational achievements and wellbeing are valued equally.
Hendon Prep is a small, co-educational Prep school in north London for children from 3-11 years old. It is an inclusive, friendly, family-feel school, which nurtures excellence in a culture that promotes and celebrates wellbeing as well as academic attainment.
At Hendon Prep, they see and develop the potential in every child. Their children engage enthusiastically with knowledge, embrace new ideas and are intellectually stimulated and extended beyond their age, resulting in excellent academic outcomes and confident independent learners.
The curriculum at Hendon Prep has been developed to stretch and challenge students to achieve the best they can as individual learners, and as a community they celebrate diversity to ensure that every child feels represented and included.
Preschool Entry
The Preschool class is very much a part of the school at Hendon Prep and children can join at the start of the term in which they turn 3. With the majority of Preschool children transitioning to Reception, Preschool at Hendon Prep really is the start of a child’s educational journey. Early registration is recommended for a Preschool place, as waiting lists are prioritised by registration date.
Reception Entry
Whilst children who attend the Preschool at Hendon Prep are given first consideration for the sought-after Reception places, they do have a small external intake at Reception. Hendon Prep is proud to be academically non-selective on entry, however places are offered following an informal assessment to ensure that every child who joins the school is able to flourish in the environment.
Chance vacancies
From time-to-time chance vacancies in other year groups do become available due to relocations and parents wishing to apply for a place in Years 1 – 6 should contact the school’s Admission’s Team for information on availability.
