Nothing packs a punch like a fresh juice. Here’s a couple that are quick and easy to make, or if you’re feeling lazy ask your nearest juice bar to make for you!
Each recipe serves 2
Ginger Zinger
- 3 carrots
- 2 slices of ginger (about the thickness of a £1 coin)
- 2 apples
- 2 oranges or 4 sweet clems
Clean the apples & carrots and chop into medium pieces. Peel the oranges and split into segments. Juice through an extractor and stir to mix the juice. Pour over ice into glasses.
Apple, Celery & Mint
- 2 Granny Smith apples
- 2 red apples of choice
- 4 sticks of celery
- 6 large sprigs of cut mint
Wash and cut the apples into medium pieces.
Pull the mint leaves off the sprigs; you need a handful of fresh mint to make this sing.
Wash and cut celery into 4cm slices
Push the apples with the mint through the juicer. Do the same with the celery. Stir and pour over ice.
Juice tips
- Don’t cut fruit or veg too small – you need chunks for good extraction.
- If you have two speeds, use the lower speed for soft fruits.
- Don’t try and put too much into the juicer as it stops it from pulping/juicing properly.
- Clean the juicer as soon as possible – dried fruit/veg is a nightmare to scrub off.
- For brown fruit stains on the equipment, soak it in a Milton solution for 30 mins and then rinse thoroughly.
- Experiment – lots of fun to be had with the kids in creating your own juices.
