Kidz Kabin Nurseries in Muswell Hill have been an established part of the N10 childcare scene and local community for 12 years. Each setting has a unique focus that leans into its surroundings and plays to the strengths of what can be offered there. Read on to get to know your local nurseries a bit better!
At Kidz Kabin Fortismere there is a strong focus on outdoor play and physical activity. The nursery is located adjacent to the Creighton Avenue campus of Fortismere School, opposite Coldfall Woods. You’ll find the outdoor space boasts a big wooden climbing structure and slide, a mud kitchen, planting areas, lots of grass for free play and a new greengrocer shop for imaginative play eventually using the food the children have grown themselves.
Fortismere is also the base for the Forest School activities run by Linda Symons, owner of Kidz Kabin. Linda is passionate about connecting with nature and enabling children to explore their natural surroundings outdoors. Forest School activities happen at all our nurseries but Fortismere is where you can find the workshop cabin! With such close access to Coldfall Woods, the activities take place regularly and are enjoyed by all the children at Kidz Kabin, as well as some of their older siblings who attend the Forest School Summer Camp aimed at children in primary school.
At Kidz Kabin Pembroke Road you can expect a high quality of education and creative activities. Pembroke Road is the flagship setting, where it all began!
The most recent Ofsted report rated three out of four areas as outstanding: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes and personal development.
As well as outstanding activities, there are regular outings to museums, the library, local amenities, shows and more. A variety of festivals in our multicultural community are celebrated to ensure all children feel seen and welcome. These can be found displayed in the entrance so parents can enjoy seeing what their children are learning.
The purpose designed rooms have been created to ensure all children can access the best resources, further their skills and play imaginatively and creatively every day.
All meals are made fresh on site every day by the chef at Pembroke Road for both settings. Both settings also benefit from a recent investment in soft play equipment, regular music and dance classes and an open and engaged approach to updating staff knowledge about the most relevant issues to childcare, safeguarding, wellbeing, education and play.
