Where did those 30 years go? Up the garden path?

This year, Earl Hyde and I received an award from the National Garden Scheme celebrating our 30 years of opening.

In that time, we have transformed plots of waste ground into a Hidden Paradise. Tarmac became The Forbidden City, complete with moon gate windows, raku tiles, and even an Oriental tea house overlooking the carp pond. Our garden has been featured many times on TV, in magazines and books… and it was all thanks to Maureen Lipman choosing it as Her Favourite Garden for a celebrity fundraiser back in 1995.

She visited us recently and was astonished at how mature it has become since she “did a bit of pottering.” She has moved since then and is no longer available to help us with the gardening.

But you are welcome to see it for yourself!

Enjoy delicious homemade cakes and tea, browse our pottery studio, and buy plants from our popular plant sale.
