You can enjoy most of the city museums, parks, and landmarks without paying. First, you need to plan and be prepared to walk (backpack with plenty of water and snacks if we go with kids). To help you on your way, here is a selection of free attractions to choose from.
The British Museum is one of the world-famous museums and is also the most visited attraction in London.
National Gallery with a huge collection of both English and European masters. It is worth to admire the William Hogarth works.
The Horniman Museum in South London (great for kids)
The Wallace Collection near Oxford Street
Museum of London at the Barbican
Westminster cathedral unlike the Abbey it is free to enter.
The Battersea Power Station a very cool new addition.
Sky Garden an amazing view across the City of London
Parks: Hyde Park, St James Park, Hampstead Heath, Regents Park (recommended) and Greenwich Park.
Markets: Portobello market, Camden Town market. Bermondsey Antiques market is a must as there is no other like this one in London. Near London Bridge. Fridays from 6:00 to 14:00 among others.
Kings Cross Samsung experience, open air cinema, and fountains in Granary square for kids delight.
Landmarks Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, House of Parliament, Big Ben, The National Covid Memorial Wall, Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square.
