The Festival is back with a bang!
East Finchley Festival – one of London’s longest-running community festivals – returns to Cherry Tree Wood, N2, on Sunday 19th June.
East Finchley Festival is an inclusive free one-day community event, showcasing the best of north London’s talent, and has been bringing the community together for nearly 50 years. The afternoon promises to be packed with good music, good food and good vibes.
MOBO award winning DJ, Pat ‘Have Mercy’ Leacock and singer Kate Galston will host the main stage with performances from a diverse selection of live artists, from local rapper and entrepreneur WondR WomN to alt-folk Celtic band Crock of Bones, and everything in between.
The community stage will feature performances from local school and community groups. Young festival-goers will be catered for with a whole host of activities, including a story-telling tent, arts and crafts, basketball and tennis coaching in the adjoining sports courts and – new for this year – laser tag in the woods.
A large selection of food stalls will ensure that every taste is catered for. From vegan Caribbean treats to hog roast to deep fried ice cream (yes, really), we’ve got it covered.
Those lovely chaps from Muswell Hillbilly Brewers will be on hand to quench your thirst with a festival ale, brewed specially for the occasion.
But that’s not all. The centre of the field is home to what has quickly established itself as a not-to-be-missed makers’ market, with over 60 local crafters, makers and creatives, selling their wares.
And if you need to wind down, our wellbeing zone will be offering yoga, breath workshops and a range of therapies.
Entry is free and visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket and settle down for the day to enjoy all that’s on offer.
The festival is run by East Finchley Festival CIC (Community Interest Company) and receives no funding from outside bodies. We rely on a huge team of volunteers and kind donations from local businesses and the general public to produce our free festival.
