Unveiling the Faces Behind the Numbers: Meet the Expert Team at Mostons

On the day of writing, we have been joined by our latest recruit.  We would like to welcome Laurence, our new trainee, to the practice and trust that he will enjoy his employment at Mostons.

Over the last 14 years Mostons have been in the heart of Winchmore Hill and continue to offer a broad range of business support services.  The team here are all dedicated general practitioners with a delightful mix of experience. This blend of knowledge and variety of our clients, past, present, and future, means that we can deal with most challenges.

Paul Moston is a qualified Chartered Accountant.  He has a wealth of experience having worked in practice for many years.  This last year provided Paul with the great variety of work he loves, including assisting with clients looking to sell their business, achieve growth and expansion through acquisition.  He is often asked to support clients as an outsourced finance director.

Ellen Ridley is both an accounting and tax technician.  She has successfully represented clients throughout 2023 that have faced HMRC enquiries.  Ellen is co-owner at Mostons with her husband Paul and they are often seen together on The Green or walking their dog, Lottie, in Oakwood Park.  When Ellen is not dealing with the taxman, she is dealing with her client’s day to day issues.  She has an extensive list of clients that lean on her heavily.

Maria Ellerbeck first started work with Paul in 1997.  They first met at school, where Paul worked in the tuck shop and remembers young Maria working her way to the front of the queue by squeezing through the mass of bodies.  Maria is a qualified accountant and deals with some of Mostons larger clients as well as many self-employed individuals.  She loves the variety and works with start-up and long-established businesses.

Our other Maria, imaginatively nicknamed, Payroll-Maria runs and manages a portfolio of over 100 clients and is dedicated to never missing a deadline.  She is knowledgeable and is keen to support clients to ensure compliance with all payroll processing matters.

Mostons “front of house” office manager is Alison.  She deals with on-boarding of new clients, general problem solving and her overriding responsibility on making sure the practice always runs smoothly.

Flora Sergiou is ACCA qualified.  Flora works on monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting matters for her portfolio of clients.  Flora will be taking maternity leave from February as we are excited to welcome the next addition to the wider Mostons team.

Daisy is another qualified accountant, that works with us two days a week. Her permanent joyful disposition is a delight to have around the office.  She mostly works on self-assessment tax returns but also deals with smaller business entities.  Her unique style has meant that she has once again won the “most popular member of the team” award for 2023.  Or so she tells us.

Last, but not least, William Bishop, ACA.  This time last year William was waiting for his final exam results from the ICAEW.  These results were delivered at high noon, just before our Christmas lunch.  His success meant that we all thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and evening celebrations.  William is a technical problem solver and deeply experienced in client data management.  2024 is full of opportunities for Will to take his experience to another level.

In these challenging times, we are here to help new and old businesses.  Prospective clients can always take up a free 30-minute consultation, without further obligation.

Mostons, looking after people businesses and business people.
