BEYOND MOVE

Noemi Nagy-Bhavsar is the owner of movement studio Beyond Move, which caters for

beginners all the way to experienced movers. She is the founder of her own movement

therapy for people living with neurological conditions, called Peto Pilates. Here she talks

about her dream to create a place where both body and mind are nurtured.

What is Peto Pilates?

Through her studies and extensive experience working with clients, Noemi saw how people

who live with movement disorders are excluded from accessing fitness. She dreamed of

finding a way of bringing everything she had learnt together. And so The Peto Pilates – an

inspiring programme for those with neurological conditions such as MS, PD, CP and Post

Stroke – and Beyond Move were born.

What are classes like at BM?

While Noemi’s area of expertise is in Pilates and Peto Pilates, the studio also offers Yoga

and Barre. The emphasis is on balanced, low-impact, full-body workouts. “When done right,”

continues Noemi, “low-impact exercises are very effective at protecting participants from

injury, and in the meantime, we can strengthen the core, mobilise the spine and build the

foundations.” At Beyond Move, there’s a particular focus on intention and being present, “of

course full-body fitness should also include mental health”, says Noemi, “the mindful

element is so extremely important”.
