Will you brave new heights for your NHS?
The Royal Free Charity exists to support our hospitals to go further, faster and deliver more world firsts – for the patients they care for locally, and for the care they can impact globally.
This May, the Royal Free Charity is hosting an abseil from the roof of the 70-foot-tall Pears Building, under the expert guidance of elite Royal Marines.
Join elite Royal Marines who are swapping jungle treks and Arctic survival for a new urban challenge – delivering the first-ever charity abseil down the iconic Pears Building on the Royal Free Hospital campus.
Lieutenant Colonel Gary Veacock, whose wife received life-saving treatment for a neuroendocrine tumour at the Royal Free Hospital, said: “We are your Royal Marines – the nation’s Royal Marines – and it’s a privilege to deliver this event with the Royal Free Charity in gratitude for the exceptional care given to our families. The care my family received has been nothing short of extraordinary.”
The abseil takes place on Friday 9 May and Saturday 10 May.
